This past week has really reminded us why we chose to live in North Carolina... it was 78 degrees on Halloween. While not every day has been so beautiful, on Saturday night we ate dinner outside and marveled at the stark contrast between a NC Halloween and a UT Halloween. In my childhood it was a rare occasion when you could actually trick or treat with your costume on and not have to cover it up with a snow suit.
In other news, this week has been great simply because Friday was our first full teacher workday after school started. Now most people I know dismiss teacher work days as a day for teachers to slack off, for first year teachers this is not the case. Jackson and I worked at least 8 hours on Friday, but we didn't have to be on our feet all day or use our tired voices. Most of the work was stuff that we just can't keep up with on a day to day basis. Ironically, neither of us had enough time on Friday to plan for Monday's lessons, but it was nice to catch up on some other important work.
We hope that all of you had a happy and safe Halloween and look forward to seeing any of your costume photos that you would like to send our way!
By some Halloween miracle we had a 50-ish degree Halloween night (in Salt Lake City). So we were able to flourish in our costumes. Glad to hear you had some nice weather.
